THE BEST THINGS TO SEE AND DO IN PULAPula is a lively village nestled among hills and beaches. The village displays well preserved historical dwellings set around the central square “Piazza del Popolo” rightly referred to as to the lounge of the village. From the heart of Pula unfold the colourful and narrow streets lined with restaurants and cafes.
Nora’s archeological site / The most ancient Phoenician city of SardiniaWashed by the sea and the lagoon waters, the magical peninsula of “Capo Pula” is home to one of the major centres of the Phoenician, Punic and Roman culture in Sardinia; Nora.Well-preserved and fascinating remains of the once bustling city can be visited in the “Parco Archeologico di Nora”. Private dwellings and public buildings can be admired while strolling (or walking?) on the eternal cobbled Roman streets; beautiful mosaics belonging to rich Roman villas, the thermal baths, the aqueduct complex, the Tophet (cemetery) and the extremely well-preserved amphitheatre to mention but a few.Nora lies a few minutes away from our Resort; by bike, it is a 5-minute ride on the dedicated cycle lane.We suggest a visit to the archeologic site at sundown.
NORA LAGOONNext to the archaeological site of Nora is the Nora Lagoon, a conservation area of natural beauty home to a number of endangered marine and freshwater animals (or creatures?). The Lagoon is fed by a complex of canals, streams and by the sea. (or complex of canals, streams and the sea supply the water to the Lagoon.?)At the “Mediterranean Aquarium” you can watch and learn more about the local marine species. Do not forget to paddle the Lagoon; a guided visit in a canoe is an unforgettable experience for adults and children of all ages and abilities.
